Welcome to
Tayvallich. This Web Site has been developed by the villagers of
Tayvallich, and is the place to find out everything you need to
know about the village, the area, and the people. We live on
the West coast of Scotland and enjoy spectacular scenery. Our
climate is governed by the Gulf Stream, and even palm trees
flourish.

Tayvallich is a small fishing village
on the shores of Loch Sween, in Argyll, and has a vibrant
community.
A vital element of village life is
tourism. The village is an ideal centre for your holiday, vacation or
weekend break.
This site is divided into ten
sections, each of which can be accessed from any page by clicking on one
of the icons on the left of the page. The symbols represent
Accommodation; Community; Sailing; a Virtual Tour; Local Artists; Food
& Drink; Things to Do; Nearby and Heritage.
Whether you want to take a look at
our village on the Argyll Coast (see Virtual Tour), whether you are
interested in our local history (see Heritage), or whether you want to
know what is going on right now (see Things to Do), you will find the
answers in these pages.
Find out about Tayvallich and places
of interest nearby including many prehistoric standing stones (see
Nearby).
Like
to come and visit? Find out about the accommodation on offer in and
around the village. Whether a self-catering cottage, bed &
breakfast, camping or caravanning, you can find a place in Tayvallich
(see Accommodation).
Find out about the Village's award
winning Seafood Pub and Restaurant (see Food & Drink), or plan your
visit around one of our Village events (see Things to Do).
There are many forestry walks in and
around the peninsula, and the Taynish Nature Reserve is only one place
of many where you can observe our local wildlife (see Wildlife).
The village has an active Sailing
Club, with 'round the can' races every Sunday during the season, and
several other longer distance weekend races and cruises. Visitors are
very welcome to come along to the club, especially at Regatta Weekend,
where they race anything that floats (almost!).
