This is a yachting country par
excellence and luxurious Otter Point is also par excellence in
comfort and location - looking down onto Tayvallich Harbour which
is so often full of yachts en route to the Islands of the Inner
and Outer Hebrides.

A spacious house standing detached in its own garden
(furniture/barbecue), it is beautifully furnished for a total of 8
people. It has four bedrooms and four bathrooms (2 ensuite); its
own private indoor heated swimming-pool (see photograph below
right), Jacuzzi, and Sauna; and grounds leading down to a
jetty and mooring which can be used at visitors' own risk. |
| An area of outstanding beauty where wildlife abounds, there are
walks of all degrees roundabout laid out by The Forestry
Commission, while single-track roads lead 8 miles south of
Tayvallich to finish at the ruined Chapel of Keills and Danna
Island; and just over
the hill to the west to the tiny hamlet of
Carsaig with its views a cross The Sound to The Paps of Jura. 9
miles north is the picturesque fishing-port of Crinan at the
western end of The Crinan Canal which has a 1st class hotel (well
known for its seafood, marvellous setting and sunsets), while
Lochgilphead (12 miles) has hotels and shops and is a cross roads
for visits to Oban (take a day trip to Mull or Iona), ancient
Dunadd; Inveraray on Loch Fyne, and The Mull of Kintyre. |
