ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

We should like to express our thanks to the many friends outside our membership who have given us such unstinted help in our research. We would mention especially Miss Campbell of Kilberry for her help over the archaeology, Dr Arnold Gray for the loan of many books, Mr A Kenneth for notes on Flora, Mr Larsen for the same on Forestry, Mr H Powell for the information on Marine Biology, the Rev Alexander Fraser, B.D., for permission to quote passages from his books, and Mrs. Rainier for her observations on bird life. Besides these, there were those too numerous to mention, who encouraged us with their interest, lent and took photographs, and helped in so many ways. To all these we say ‘Thank you,.

RE-ISSUE - 1989

Our village population has changed since the original publication of 1966 and many of our newer residents and visitors wish to know about earlier days—hence this re—issue in 1989 which coincides with the 60th anniversary of Tayvallich SWRI.

Of necessity there are some changes from the original since certain pictures are not obtainable. We hope the substitutes used here will prove equally interesting and intriguing.

Acknowledgement of the work of the Dowager Lady Gainford in collating the original issue is made now in appreciation of the many years of loyal service she has given to SWRI in Argyll.
