TAYVALLICH PREPARES FOR LANTERN PARADE 2007
The village hall played host to an outreach workshop from the Lochgilphead Lantern Parade team. Morag Duff taught children and adults how to make lanterns from the natural materials of willow branches and paper.
The theme of this year's parade is the Celtic heritage of Dunadd, and participants built lanterns around this subject.
Long-ships with attendant pods of dolphins soon filled the room. Willow wands were woven into frames to which a skin of tissue paper was glued.
On the night these will be lit from within by candles. The workshops were enjoyed by all age-Groups from the village as well as by visitors, and the day was a great success."
